Wicked Scrubby Mitt

There's not much I love more than Halloween... and the iconic Witch!

So, when I got my hands on this Red Heart Scrubby and Scrubby Sparkle yarn, this witch hand bath mitten just seemed like the perfect creation!
This simple mitt is fun to make and is practically one piece!

Here's how to make your own: 

MATERIALS

Red Heart Scrubby Yarn

      *Green Tea (A)

      *Black (C)

Red Heart Scrubby Sparkle Yarn

      *Avocado (B)

H/5.00mm Hook (Small Hand)

I/5.50mm Hook (Large Hand)

Yarn Needle

SPECIAL STITCHES

single crochet three together (sc3tog) = insert hook in 1^st st, YO, draw up a loop; *insert hook in next st, YO, draw up a loop* 2X, YO, draw through all 4 loops on hook.

INSTRUCTIONS

With A,

1:  Ch 33, sc in back bump of each ch across, join with sl st to form a ring (32)

2: Ch 1, sc in each st arnd, sl st to join (32)

3: Rep 2

With B,

4-6: Rep 2

With A,

7-9: Rep 2

With B,

10-12: Rep 2

With A,

13-15: Rep 2

With B,

16-18: Rep 2

With A,

19: Ch 1, sc x 22, ch 4, sk 4, sc x 6, sl st to join (28 sc, 4 ch) <Thumb Hole Created>

20: Ch 1, sc in each st and ch arnd, sl st to join (32)

21: Ch 1, sc in each st arnd, sl st to join. Fasten. (32)

With B,

22-24: Rep 21

FINGERS

Making sure thumb hole is on the side; divide the stitches into groups of 4; match the groups up with the matching 4 sts on the opposite side of fold (for a total of 4 groups of 8 sts). See photo tutorial below to see how to work fingers.

With A,

1: Attach yarn to 1^st st, 2 sc in same space, sc in next, 2 sc, sc, jump over to the opposite side of the hand and working back towards 1^st sc; *2 sc, sc* 2X, sl st to 1^st sc to join (12)

2: Ch 1, sc arnd, sl st to join (12)

3: Rep 2

With B,

4-6: Rep 2

With A,

7-9: Rep 2

For Index and Ring Fingers Only

10-11: Rep 2 – Move to Step 13

For Middle Finger Only

10-12: Rep 2 – Move to Step 13

Pinky Finger Only

10: Rep 2 – Move to Step 13

For All Fingers

13: dec arnd; weave tail through remaining sts and pull tight to cinch closed. Fasten.

THUMB

With A,

1: Attach yarn to any st or ch of thumbhole; *2 sc, sc* arnd, sl st to join (12)

2: Ch 1, sc arnd, sl st to join (12)

3: Rep 2

With B,

4-6: Rep 2

With A,

7-10: Rep 2

11: Ch 1, dec arnd; weave tail through remaining sts and pull tight to cinch closed. Fasten.

FINGERNAIL (Make 5)

With C,

1: Ch 4, sc in 2^nd ch from hook and across, turn (3)

2-3: Ch 1, sc across, turn (3)

4: Ch 1, sc3tog. Fasten. (1)

SPIDER

With C,

1: Make magic ring, 8 sc in ring; pull tight to close (8)

2: *2 sc, sc* arnd (12)

3: sc arnd. Fasten. (12)

Legs

Cut 4 – 4” strands. 

FINISHING

*Attach fingernails to front center of fingers over round 10 and up.

*Add legs to spider: Fold spider in half, find 2 center stitches on each side; fold legs in half and thread looped end through one stitch, feed the tails through the loop, and pull tight to fasten. Repeat in other 3 sts.

*Attach spider to hand in desired location.

*Hide all strings.
