G/6/4.00mm Crochet Hook & H/8/5.00mm Crochet Hook (for Numbers, Dots, and Hearts)

Alt. dc = Alternate double crochet
ch = chain
dc = double crochet
FLO = front loop only
hdc = half double crochet
sc = single crochet
sl st = slip stitch
SKILL LEVEL: Beginner

NOTES
- Hat is worked in continuous rounds with no joins or chains.
- Instructions are given to make the hat in a solid color. To make the Pink stripes: Change colors every 4 rows, making 5 total stripes (ending with Color A). For Purple stripes: Make first color change at round 12 and next color change at round 13.
- The pattern for the numbers has been moved HERE and it now numbers 0-9.

With Color A,

5. *2 sc, sc* arnd (15)

7. *2 sc, sc x 2* arnd (20)
8. sc arnd (20)
9. *2 sc, sc x 3* arnd (25)
10. sc arnd (25)
11. *2 sc, sc x 4* arnd (30)
12. sc arnd (30)
13. *2 sc, sc x 5* arnd (35)
14. sc arnd (35)
15. *2 sc, sc x 6* arnd (40)

With H Hook (Make 3)
1. Magic Ring, 5 sc in ring (5)
2. 2 sc arnd (10) Close. Fasten.
HEARTS - G Hook
Small (Make 2)
Magic Ring, ch 3, 2 trc, 2 dc, ch 1, trc, ch 1, 2 dc, 2 trc, ch 3, sl st to ring. Pull ring closed and shape heart.
Large (Make 2)
Magic Ring, ch 3, 3 trc, 3 dc, ch 1, trc, ch 1, 3 dc, 3 trc, ch 3, sl st to ring. Pull ring closed and shape heart.
FINISHING
With Color C,
Add a pom pom to the top, sew or glue the "age" to the front and sew dots or hearts randomly around the hat. Optional: Add buttons to the center of the dots or hearts and add ribbon for ties.
