Nostalgia Ornament

Are you enjoying this Christmas Ornament CAL? This week is the fourth ornament release!


Over the past three weeks, we have been crocheting brand new Christmas ornaments! One new pattern has been released every Friday. The last ornament pattern will be released December 2nd, right here on my blog!

Here is this week's pattern:

NOSTALGIA ORNAMENT


MATERIALS NEEDED
*#2 or #3 Weight Yarn
 -Red (A)
 -White (B)
 -Green (C)
*E/5/3.5mm crochet hook
*Chenille Sticks or Christmas Florals
*Mini Jingle Bells

STITCH GUIDE
ch = chain
dc = double crochet
dtrc = See Special Stitches
hdc = half double crochet
sc = single crochet
sk = skip
sl st = slip stitch
trc = treble crochet
YO = yarn over

SKILL LEVEL
Easy

WRITTEN IN US TERMS

NOTES
Pattern is written for 3 colors. One color could be used if desired. 


SPECIAL STITCHES
Double Treble Crochet (dtrc) = YO 3X, insert hook in stitch indicated, YO, draw up a loop, *YO, draw through 2 loops on hook* 4X. 

INSTRUCTIONS
With Color A,
1. Ch 10, starting in 2nd ch from hook: sc, hdc, dc, trc, dtrc, trc, dc, hdc, sc, ch 2; turn and work down other side of ch: sc, hdc, dc, trc, dtrc, trc, dc, hdc, sc, ch 2, sl st to join in 1st sc. (18 sts, 2 ch-2 sps)
With Color B,
2.  Ch 2, *2 dc in each st, 3 dc in each ch-2 sp* arnd, sl st to join in 1st dc (42 dc)
With Color C,
3. sl st down until middle dc of 3 dc cluster is reached, (sl st, ch 3, sl st) in middle dc, sl st up to middle dc of next 3 dc cluster, (sl st, ch 3, sl st) in middle dc, sl st to join in 1st sl st. Fasten.


FINISHING
*Block as needed and allow to dry
*Cut 3 - 3" pieces of chenille stick, hold them evenly (side by side), and attach them together in the middle. Trim as desired.
*Attach chenille sticks centered over the bottom-front. Optional: Add Christmas Florals instead of chenille sticks.
*Attach jingle bells to the front of the chenille sticks.
*Add ornament hook to ch-3 loop at top.
*Hide all strings.
